Biography

Francis W. Yook, co-founding partner of Yook DiPisa LLC, represents clients in complex
commercial and business litigation, personal injury and employment claims, partnership disputes
and shareholder oppression, and in real estate, land use/zoning, and corporate and transactional
matters. Francis has experience handling all phases and aspects of litigation in matters across
Federal, state, and bankruptcy courts.

Prior to forming YD, Francis clerked for Judge Edward S. Kiel in the United States District
Court for the District of New Jersey, and Judge Lisa A. Firko in the Law Division of the New
Jersey Superior Court, Bergen Vicinage. These clerkships provided him with valuable insight
into judicial decision-making and sharpened the skills he now brings to representing clients.
Francis previously practiced at several prominent New Jersey law firms where he gained broad
litigation experience that informs his pragmatic and strategic approach to client advocacy. He is
admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.

Francis earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2014 and his B.A. in English from Boston
University in 2010. His accomplishments have been recognized with selection to Super Lawyers
rising stars, inclusion in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch, and recognition as one of the New Jersey
Law Journal’s New Leaders of the Bar. In 2025, Francis was the recipient of the Professional
Lawyer Year Award by the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Commission on Professionalism.

Beyond his practice, Francis is deeply engaged in the legal community. He is a Past President of
the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey, and is an associate member of
the Justice Morris Pashman American Inn of Court. He previously served on the Fort Lee Zoning
Board of Adjustment, and as attorney for the Palisades Park Planning Board.
